PROFESSIONAL SELF-DEVELOPMENT OF INTELLIGENCE OFFICERS IN THE CONTEXT OF IMPLEMENTING PRINCIPLE OF EDUCATION THROUGHOUT THE MILITARY CAREER

Abstract

The article defines the concept of military education, professional self-development of intelligence officers and its components, the system of military education in Ukraine and its components, and the principle of education throughout the military career. The author analyses the system of continuous professional self-development of intelligence officers in Ukraine, which combines formal and non-formal military education. Formal education includes bachelor's, master's, PhD and Doctor of Science degrees, which provide structured and academic training. Non-formal education includes refresher courses and professional military education aimed at continuous professional development without the award of academic qualifications. The article describes in detail the variable ways of professional self-development of intelligence officers, which include the sequential acquisition of educational degrees and professional military education courses at the tactical, operational and strategic levels. It is noted that future officers have the opportunity to build individual educational trajectories, combining formal and non-formal education to achieve a high level of professional training. Particular attention is paid to the concept of continuous learning, which allows intelligence officers to gradually improve their military skills throughout their careers. This is achieved through the systematic completion of advanced training courses that facilitate the acquisition of new and improvement of acquired professional competences. The study found that along with formal education, intelligence officers systematically undergo advanced training under special programmes covering different levels of military education. This ensures continuous professional self-development of officers at the tactical, operational and strategic levels. The paper emphasises the importance of integrating professional military education with the career management system, which contributes to the effective implementation of new strategies and technologies in the military sphere.
