The Editorial Board of the scholarly journal Adult Education: Theory, Experience, Perspectives has refined its conceptual framework (clarifying aims and profiling the subject area) to ensure alignment with current international editorial standards.
Aims and Objectives
The aim of the journal is to foster a scholarly environment for the conceptualization and dissemination of research findings in adult education and lifelong learning.
Objectives:
- to promote and support research outputs in adult education across diverse learner groups and in lifelong learning;
- to advance theoretical, methodological, and instructional foundations of formal, non-formal, and informal education as components of an integrated system for continuous professional development and personal self-realization;
- to facilitate interdisciplinary scholarly dialogue on psychological-pedagogical, socio-cultural, information-technological, comparative, and historical dimensions of adult education in national and international contexts;
- professionalization of research activities of scholars and practitioner-educators.
Thematic Profile and Scope
The journal publishes research related to higher education and adult education (formal, non-formal, and informal), including issues of postgraduate education, continuing professional development, and other forms of learning.
Manuscripts presenting research on topics relevant to educational contexts at both national and international levels are considered. Priority is given to innovative contributions – empirical and theoretical – that advance the field and generate new knowledge. Submissions may employ a wide range of methodological approaches, including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods.

- theoretical and applied research in adult education;

Submission, Review, and Acceptance
Manuscripts are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year. To be considered for a specific issue, submissions should be made well in advance, allowing sufficient time for peer review and revisions.
Submission does not guarantee publication. Final decisions are based on the manuscript’s alignment with the journal’s scope, adherence to principles of academic integrity, and successful completion of a double-blind peer review process.
