INNOVATIVE ACTIVITY AS A PRIORITY DIRECTION OF DEVELOPMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION
Abstract
The article justifies the innovative activity of higher education institutions as an important axis of development and ensuring competitiveness in the conditions of European integration. The innovative activity of Ukrainian universities is especially important and relevant in the conditions of martial law and the post-war period. The author analyzed scientific works and legal documents that ensure the functioning of higher educational institutions in Ukraine. According to the results of the study on the state of innovative activity of universities, key areas of innovative activity were determined. The key areas of innovative activity of universities are the development of new technologies, including: energy, transport technologies, agro-industrial complex technologies, medical equipment and maintenance, ecological production and protection environment, information technology. These orientations are underpinned as a guideline for the conduct of basic and applied scientific research in higher education. The author has characterized the peculiarities of the innovative activity of universities. The essential characteristics of an innovative educational environment are described. The components of the innovative activity of universities, which ensure the implementation of the educational policy of the Ukrainian state, have been determined. The components of innovative activity are: the development and implementation of innovative educational projects; research and application of innovative learning methods and technologies, technologies for organizing an innovative educational environment; creation of conditions for the development and implementation of educational innovations, training of future specialists for the development and implementation of innovative products and services. The author has studied the innovations of modernization and transformation of higher education. The opportunity to use innovations in modern universities is supported by the example of international and regional innovation projects. According to the results of the study, it was confirmed that innovative activity is a priority area for the development of universities and ensuring competitiveness in the post-war period. Prospective research areas on the formation of the spirit of innovation as a component of the professional competence of scientific and pedagogical workers in higher education institutions have been identified.
