PROVIDING STUDENTS’ CROSSCULTURAL TRAINING IN THE CONTEXT OF HIGHER EDUCATION INTERNATIONALIZATION IN CANADA
Abstract
The article analyzes the legislative and normative-legal support of the students’ crosscultural training in the context of internationalization of higher education in Canada. That opennes to foreign culture starts from the understanding of the culture of your own country. The article analyzes the educational system and consistent policy in the field of internationalization of higher education by the Federal Government of Canada. In addition to the programs and strategies expanding opportunities for the students’ mobility, the attention must be drawn to the Canada's Government changes in the order of getting permit for foreign graduates of higher educational institutions of the country, how they can get an open work permit without restrictions of the specialty and without the requirement of an official invitation from employers.
Thus, the content of cross-cultural training for students in the context of the internationalization of higher education in Canada is formed on the basis of systematic and consistent policy of the federal government of Canada in the field of internationalization of education. The analysis of federal and provincial initiatives makes it possible to argue that the legal framework for the education content internationalization, that is determined by the provisions of the federal policy aimed at higher education in Canada, is the modernization of the higher education content within the scope of its international dimension, increasing the competitiveness of higher education through the internationalization efforts, the promotion of higher education in the international area. Internationalization efforts are carried out through international cooperation, national strategies and exchange programs.
Studying the positive theoretical and practical experience of cross cultural training in Canada in the context of the higher education internationalization will increase the level of readiness of the domestic higher education system to the growing demands of the modern globalized society through the providing higher education with the level of development of graduates’ cross-cultural competences and their adaptation to work in a multicultural environment. The prospects for further scientific research are seen in identifying and comparing the content of cross-cultural training in various Canadian higher education institutions.
