ECOSYSTEM APPROACH TO THE INNOVATIVE DEVELOPMENT OF HIGHER PEDAGOGICAL EDUCATION UNDER MODERN CHALLENGES

Abstract

The article substantiates the ecosystem approach as a strategic foundation for the innovative development of higher pedagogical education under modern challenges. Based on the analysis of search query dynamics and scientometric data, the study reveals the growing academic and practical interest in educational ecosystems, which are gradually transforming from a metaphorical concept into an applied paradigm of educational development. The paper summarizes key theoretical frameworks that shaped the methodological basis of research: the «Triple Helix» model, the concept of “learning ecology,” and OECD and UNESCO approaches. Four major intellectual clusters in higher education are identified: digital ecosystems, entrepreneurial ecosystems, lifelong learning ecosystems, and socio-sychological ecosystems. Current research directions are outlined, including digitalization and AI integration in higher education; humanistic models of inclusivity and equity; ecological and network approaches to learning spaces; transformation of the teacher’s role within network structures; and strategies for sustainability of educational ecosystems. The study emphasizes that global BANI world challenges highlight the need for holistic, flexible, and innovative educational environments capable of fostering critical thinking, social responsibility, and life skills among future educators. It concludes that the ecosystem approach represents a promising methodological framework for the modernization of higher pedagogical education in Ukraine, requiring further systemic integration at global, national, and institutional levels.

Key words: ecosystem approach; higher pedagogical education; educational ecosystem; adult education; innovative development.
